- Welcome to this User manual for ZRM for MySQL.
- The manual has been prepared for ZRM for MySQL version 1.1.5.
- ZRM for MySQL suite has been written in Perl with the aim of making it run on as many as possible distributions of Linux and Unix.
- It has been tested on Redhat, Suse Linux, Debian and Ubuntu distributions.
- It can backup MySQL servers running on any MySQL supported platform.
- MySQL versions 4.0.x, 4.1.x and 5.x have been tested.
- ZRM for MySQL RPMs, Debian packages and tar ball are available at Zmanda downloads page.
- The manual covers
- All tasks that are required to be carried out to successfully backup data of MySQL databases.
- How to recover database. (Please note Restore and Recover are used interchangeably throughout the manual)
- Setting up proper data retention policies so that hard disk space is conserved.
- All ZRM for MySQL commands and output are displayed in a box as shown below.
