Q: Does tape spanning only work when you're using 'tar'? or does it also work with 'dump'?
A: It should work on both tar as well as dump.
Q: Is an autoloader required to use the tape spanning capability ? or Can the tape spanning capability be used by manually changing the tapes ?
A: Manual changers are O.K. Amanda will send email indicating it is waiting for the next tape. (2/6/2009)

After the Second tape is put in the tape drive, is there a command that needs to be executed to continue the backup? is it automatic? can it sit over a long weekend without issues waiting for the next tape? (2/2/2009)
