Définition des Tapetypes

Si vous ne trouvez pas exactement le tapetype dont vous avez besoin, vous devriez pouvoir personnaliser une définition existante. Ou vous pouvez lancer amtapetype(8), qui prend un certain temps (de 5 à 8 heures). Ce programme remplira deux fois une bande scratch avec des données aléatoires. Lorsque vous faites tourner "amtapetype" vous-mêmes, assurez-vous de spécifier en optionune estimation réaliste: "amtapetype -e 200g ...", sinon le programme pourrait prendre des jours à accomplir sa tâche.

Faire tourner amtapetype sur votre installation plutôt que d'utiliser une des valeurs présentées ici vous permet de vérifier la capacité (est-ce que la compression matérielle a été activée par erreur ?) et la vitesse (y a t-il un problème dans la chaîne SCSI ?).

Toutes les bandes n'ont pas exactement la même longueur, donc certaines valeurs ont été arrondies, ainsi que précisé en note. Cela permet à Amanda de plannifier de manière plus efficace, parce que vous perdez beaucoup de place quand les quelques derniers octets d'un dump de plusieurs giga ne tiennent pas sur une bande.

Si vous créez votre propre tapetype, vous devriez vous référer à la section tapetype de amanda.conf(5).

Vous devriez avoir activé la compression à un seul endroit. Vous pouvez l'activer dans le type de dump pour le client ou le serveur, ou dans beacoup de cas sur le lecteur de bande. En général, vous vous en sortirez mieux en compressant sur le client ou le serveur que sur le lecteur de bande.

Bandes Virtuelles

Les bandes virtuelles peuvent évidemment être de n'importe quelle taille, tant que ça tient sur le disque. Voici quelques valeurs qui limitent une vtape, pour qu'elle puisse être recopiée sur un autre média.

Pour le "filemark" vous devriez prendre en compte que chaque fichier au format iso9660 uccupe un multiple de 2Kbytes (AFAIRE: trouver la valeur exacte). L'utilisation de vtapes requiert deux fichiers pour chaque fichier de dump, donc doubler cette valeur.

AFAIRE: le système de fichiers iso9660 lui-même consomme de la capacité. Trouver combien. Sinon réduire quelque peu les valeurs de capacité que vous trouverez ici pour être tranquille.

Pour les CD

Les CD enregistrables proposent plusieurs capacités:

  • "650MB" = 74 minutes audio = 681,984,000 bytes = 650.3 MiB
  • "700MB" = 80 minutes audio = 737,280,000 bytes = 703.1 MiB
