Amandad is the Amanda daemon. It is invoked via inetd, or directly if using e.g., ssh authentication, and serves as a gateway to the other Amanda processes:

sendsize
sendbackup
selfcheck
amindexd
amidxtaped

Amandad does not have a manual page.
